Cyber Essentials – Your IT MOT
You wouldn’t drive a car that had failed it’s MOT. You wouldn’t feel safe in a friend’s car if you theirs failed. Cyber Essentials certification is the MOT for your IT.
IT is exactly the same. Can you feel comfortable sending someone billing/bank information if you don’t know their systems are secure? Cyber Essentials shows a business cares enough about their IT to adhere to the safety recommendations made by the UK Government.
What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry certified scheme tailored for businesses and organisations, big or small. As we head forwards into the 21st century, cyber attacks are becoming an increasingly relevant issue. Cyber Essentials certification shows that you’ve taken steps to safeguard your organization. The Federation of Small Businesses and the CBI are just two of the organizations who are backing the scheme.
Why do I need Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a set of IT checks to show you have the right security measures in place. By passing it, you show that you have solid IT controls in place. That’s why the UK Government produced, vetted and advocates it.
Without official Cyber Essentials certification, no one outside a company has proof that it takes it’s IT seriously. Therefore you should make sure all your partners have that certification from now on. By showing your investors or clients that you have taken all the necessary precautions you’re setting yourself up in good stead.
Don’t do business without it. Don’t make partners who haven’t made sure their company (and your data) is secure.
Aquilatec can help make the process of getting certified easy. Our expert IT consultants know the Cyber Essentials questions. Therefore we can make recommendations to plug holes in your system that can cause you to fail the test. Once we know you’re ready to pass, we work with an independent organisation, help you find and provide the right information. Aquilatec ensures that you’re in the best position to pass the test, first time.
